Organized by Linguistics PhD candidates Joe Patrick and Sean Nonnenmacher, GOSECA will be hosting the 19th Annual Graduate Student Conference on February 25-26, 2022. We will be hosting student and faculty scholars to present and discuss topics such as language and culture in the former Soviet Union, political and economic deconstruction, contemporary migration, and Balkan identity and language. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Aneta Pavlenko, will address multilingualism, linguistic diversity, and commodification of language in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
