Welcome Dr. Vibha Shetiya, Instructor of Hindi

The Less-Commonly-Taught-Languages Center is pleased to announce that Dr. Vibha Shetiya will be joining us as Visiting Assistant Instructor of Hindi in AY18. Vibha earned her Ph.D. in Asian Cultures and Languages in 2014 from the University of Texas, Austin. She is fluent in Hindi, Marathi, Konkani and spoken Urdu and has research knowledge of Sanskrit and Telugu. Her research focuses on modern vernacular versions of the Indian epic The Ramayana. She writes: "as someone raised in Southern Africa and India, and now living in America, I deeply value international and intercultural exchanges--experiences that make me particularly passionate about teaching and interacting with a diverse student body."
