Ph.D. candidate Shaohua Fang publishes in International Review of Applied Linguistics in Language Teaching

Shaohua Fang has published a new collaborative article with Zhiyi Wu, a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland, in the journal International Review of Applied Linguistics in Language Teaching, entitled ‘Syntactic prediction in L2 learners: evidence from English disjunction processing’. The study examined L2 predictive processing among Chinese learners of English through the lens of English disjunction. The results showed that L2 learners, like native speakers, could make predictions at the level of syntax during sentence comprehension and that proficiency did not robustly modulate this process.
